Batwoman - Episode 2.11 - Arrive Alive Fast and Furious: Gotham City was a pretty fun episode of Batwoman . There was a lot at play here and each story had its merit. There were a lot of big character developments wrapped up in the story too. Alice's journey is all over the place. She really is going through a lot, but at this point she is treading water for the end game. There is no way she is going to forget Kate, but what is the point of this journey? Sophie figuring out the identity of Batwoman is huge. It is probably the biggest thing that has

Jacob dealt with it. Alice dealt with it. Even Julia did, to a certain extent. And it was all wrapped around "Snakebite" and a doctor who could make people forget things.   While Kate is no longer a main player on the show, her impact is driving many stories of the characters. Jacob, Sophie, Alice, and Julia, are all doing what they are doing because of Kate. I wasn't

The Flash has a hit and miss history with it though. This one was fun, but they broke their own rules and stuff with this, leaving it with a sloppy and disconnected narrative.   The rule that was broken was the clothing thing. Not huge in the grand scheme of things, but just annoying. Cisco and Chester went back in time but had to go find period relevant clothing. The show actually spent value minutes dealing with this show. Then later on, when the rest of the time travel happen

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Episode 4 - Review

Image
The second half of the movie called The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has aired, and it gave Marvel fans something that we never thought we would see. It is moving the narrative forward, and all of a sudden we now find ourselves looking toward the penultimate episode of this 6 hour movie.

Black Mask has Kate Kane imprisoned, and is becoming a formidable foe. The Bat team is beginning to gel more than ever too. Sofie's sister made a splashy entrance and seems like she will be important in the long run. Not only is she bridging the gap between Sofia and Ryan, but she is doing important work against police corruption too. The "is Kate alive or dead" thing is getting old. While th

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Episode 3 - Review

The halfway point of the series also marked the apex of the series so far. The best episode came with a lot of added layers, familiar faces, and enough mystery to let the series ride this wave until the end of the line. There will be spoilers throughout.

Batwoman - Episode 2.08 -Survived Much Worse Well it finally looks like we are getting somewhere with Batwoman . Ryan will be healed of her Kryptonite poisoning soon. And the mystery of how they are going to handle Kate Kane has also been answered. It is good the show did what I hoped it would do, and get rid of the cure all flower, because it was too easy of a problem solver. Its destruction at the hands of Alice is going to have many interesting consequences, and hopefully it will give Alice something meatier to chew on. Kate K

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Episode 2 - Review

Image
Episode 2 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finally brought both titular characters together. Their relationship is a strained one, and it is predicated on the legacy of Steve Rogers. While Steve Rogers didn't appear in the episode, his presence is felt throughout the whole show in many different ways.

Batwoman - Episode 2.07 - It's Best You Stop Digging The kryptonite sickness is front and center now, and it is really impacting Ryan in ways that I thought they wouldn't. I assumed as like most big things in these shows that it would be an easy fix. But they are letting it linger, and getting interesting story details out of it. The flashback is a trope used in the Arrowverse from the very beginning. It isn't used as frequently anymore, but Batwoman is utilizing that tool to tell more of Alice's story, and it is effectiv

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Episode 1 - Review

Image
Marvel's second Disney+ show is much more in line with what fans expected to see when they hear "Marvel Cinematic Universe". The Falcon and the Winter Soldier tells the story of both of Steve Rogers' friends and sidekicks, and the legacy they have to deal with.

Zack Snyder's Justice League - Review

Image
Zack Snyder's Justice League is something special in that it exists at all. After having to leave the project in 2016, and a massive (sometimes toxic) fan campaign, Snyder's (mostly) original vision was restored and put on HBO Max. In short: It is an improvement over the theatrical cut, that has issues of its own, but doesn't keep it from being a vastly entertaining spectacle.

5 MCU Spinoffs That Should Be On Disney+

Marvel is vastly expanding their universe by giving supporting characters their own stories on Disney+. Things like WandaVision , The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , and Loki all are able to explore their characters deeper than the movies they featured in. The possibilities are endless, as the MCU has many characters rich for exploration. Here are 5 stories the MCU should explore in the future.

WandaVision - Episode 9 - Review

Image
The first television show set firmly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to a conclusion. For all intents and purposes, it did exactly what it was supposed to do. It broadened the story of Wanda Maximoff, and explored grief and loss in a way that was not explored in the universe previously.

WandaVision - Episode 8 - Review

Image
The penultimate episode provided a ton of answers, and didn't disappoint. Wanda had to relive her past traumas, and she unlocked as many answers as we did. This episode framed the past ones in a totally different light. They are much more tragic than fun now.

WandaVision - Episodes 5-7 - Review

Image
These last 3 episodes have a lot going for them. They introduced Pietro, kept the sitcom format, but also expanded into the larger MCU story. The acting in this show is some of the MCU's best, as are the call backs and Easter eggs. Olsen and Bettany are truly doing Emmy worthy work, changing tones on a dime. However, the MVP of the show is quickly becoming Kathryn Hahn. Agnes has been there since day one, but her tonal shift and commitment to each line is absolutely perfect. The reveal at the end of episode 7 of her as the villain, Agatha Harkness is one of the shows best moments. The "Agatha All Along" jingle is one of the most catchy tunes in the MCU. Bringing Evan Peters on to play Pietro is a stroke of genius. He played the same character in the X-Men movies, and regardless of whether this is the same version of the character or not, it was a smart move to "recast" him since it was not Wanda that created him. It also plays into the sitcom trope of the siblin

WandaVision - Episode 4 - Review

Image
For those that were not enamored with the old fashion sitcom feel of WandaVision and just wanted something that felt like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, episode 4 "We Interrupt This Program" is for you. It showed the first 3 episodes of the season in a different way. To borrow from a different fandom, they showed the first 3 episodes of the season again "from a certain point of view".

WandaVision - Episode 3 - Review

Image
The strangest show on TV got its first episode in full color! This episode offered a bit more of the bigger picture at hand, and what to expect for future episodes by fully setting the town. The long wait between episodes is working in the shows favor, even though we all want the whole thing immediately in this binge-model world. WandaVision offers something new while tapping into nostalgia at the same time. It is quite special.

WandaVision - Episodes 1 & 2 - Review

Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back after over a year (!) absence . WandaVision had the honor of ushering in Phase 4 with the most unique entry in the shared universe yet. When it was announced that there would be television shows set in the MCU, with MCU characters, on Disney+, this one instantly caught my attention. The other shows like Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye all looked like they were exactly what they seemed to be on paper. But WandaVision stuck out to me then , and I was not disappointed.

Doctor Who - 2021 New Year's Day Special - Revolution of the Daleks - Review

Image
"Revolution of the Daleks" was my most anticipated episode of the Chris Chibnall/Jodie Whittaker era since their debut episode. It was sold as having Daleks, Captain Jack Harkness, and connective tissue to previous episodes. What's not to love? Well, the episode had even more - Dalek civil war, companion exits, and even a tease toward the future. While it was enjoyable, there were many glaring issues with the episode that kept it from being great.
