2021 Arrowverse Roundup - Week 28

This week featured the return of a Lantern, a murder mystery, and a surprise visitor.

Below is a breakdown of all of the Arrowverse stuff that aired this week. It is part review, part speculation, part analysis, and part rambling. It is organized in the order they aired throughout the week, so feel free to scroll down to whatever ones you watch. Legends of Tomorrow - Episode 6.12 - Bored On Board Onboard

This episode was self contained in that it only really had 2 already established sets, and most of the cast were all together. But as usual, the plot came second to all of the character development that happened, particularly with Constantine.

Kayla returned to mess things up with Rory. She did get them to Earth faster, but for nefarious reasons. She seemed genuinely shocked that Rory was pregnant, but who knows what her real emotions were.

This episode didn't move the narrative forward a lot, but it still shouldn't be considered filler. It did a lot of character work and got them to where they need to be for the rest of the season. Still, while it was entertaining, there was something left to be desired. The homestretch should be an entertaining one.

Stargirl - Episode 2.02 - Summer School: Chapter Two

Alan Scott's daughter is here, and just like that, the Arrowverse has a Lantern. She didn't come without issues though - Courtney was immediately skeptical of her, and they had to learn to get along. She will either be a great ally, or the new foe. But I am leaning towards the former.

Pat was sort of stuck in the middle of things. He wanted to train the new Lantern, but at the same time, was cognizant of Courtney's feelings even if he didn't agree with them.

I am loving the chapter format of this season. Black Lightning did this too, and it kept the episodes from ever feeling too repetitive, like some superhero shows can. The villains are being set up too, and all of it should culminate into an extremely fun season. There is an Arrowverse cameo coming up, and I am very much looking forward to that.

Superman And Lois - Episode 1.15 - Last Sons of Krypton

One of the best seasons in the Arrowverse has come to an end, and cemented itself as one of the best superhero stories told on TV. If it had squandered the finale, that would be up for debate. But it didn't. This was a tremendous episode that offered emotion, closure, and more to come.

Everyone got their moment in the sun, including the kids who have come a very long way since the pilot episode. The entire family - and Lana's family - all have important roles coming up.

I did think General Lane would die in the finale, but he survived to live another day. It is unclear how big of a role he will continue to have in the show, but he was another character I grew to like as time went on.

The arrival of John's daughter at the very end of the episode was tremendous, and is going to make the storylines next season absolutely stellar. There is so much potential between her and Lois, and her and the boys. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I don't like that Supergirl was completely ignored throughout the entire show, so hopefully that will be remedied next year. It doesn't even need to be an appearance - just a mention would suffice. But with Supergirl ending, cast members will be free to appear in this show if the story allows it, which I hope it does.

The best episode of the week was Superman and Lois. Sometimes a finale is lackluster, but this one was not. Great season overall too.
