2021 Arrowverse Roundup - Week 32
This
week featured a painful confession and the birth of a new hero.
Below is a breakdown of all of the Arrowverse stuff that aired this week. It is part review, part speculation, part analysis, and part rambling. It is organized in the order they aired throughout the week, so feel free to scroll down to whatever ones you watch. The show had a lot of religious themes this week, but it worked for the story, so it wasn't overtly annoying. Like Daredevil, it was used as a tool for character growth. Yolanda was front and center, and finally got a big stress out in the open.
Her secret that she killed Brainwave is finally out in the open with the team. They handled it pretty well, though there will be more to come with that. Courtney is a being torn in several different directions, and it is affecting her relationships.
Things are ramping up, and the team still seems ill-equipped to handle any more than they already are. It should be interesting to see how it unfolds.
The last stop on John Diggle's Arrowverse tour is now complete. David Ramsey made his first guest appearance on Supergirl, and was not wasted like he was in some other appearances this season. He helped Kelly become the new Guardian, in one of the most poignant episodes of the season.
Supergirl more than any other Arrowverse show except perhaps Black Lightning deals with real life issues quite frequently. The way they tackled race was quite powerful, and actually felt like it meant something. It was a perfect way to bring in John Diggle as well.
This show has dealt with a lot of things, and they aren't taking their foot off the gas this close to the end. It's nice to see they will stay true until the very end.

The best episode of the week was Supergirl. It was one of the most powerful and poignant episodes of the entire series.
