2021 Arrowverse Roundup - Week 32
This
week featured the rise of a villain, and an unlikely ally coming to the heroes' aid.
Below is a breakdown of all of the Arrowverse stuff that aired this week. It is part review, part speculation, part analysis, and part rambling. It is organized in the order they aired throughout the week, so feel free to scroll down to whatever ones you watch. As we approach the halfway point of the season, things are escalated quickly. Cindy made a stand against team Stargirl and unfortunately for Cindy, it did not end well for her.
While I don't think Cindy is dead, she is certainly in a bad state, after being used by malevolent force. Courtney trying to save her and failing will be a big thing going forward too. The guilt Courtney will feel, and the blame that Cindy will put on Courtney will drive them even further apart.
Giving Mike his own machine like his father will be a cool addition to the team. Its good that they are doing more with Mike this season than last year. While the genie thing didn't quite work out (though I doubt we have heard the last of that too), still involving Mike is the right choice.
There are 7 episodes left, and there is still an Arrowverse appearance to be had. But that is a few weeks off yet.
The best named DC comics villain has returned to Supergirl but this time as an ally. Mr. Mxyzptlk was summoned by Supergirl to help against Nxly. It was an organic way to bring the character back.
Not only did they bring him back, but they gave him great character development too. For a minor character in the grand scheme of thing, they gave him a great journey too.
Lena has been MIA for a while, but she was back, and got a big juicy story to bite on. It was a bit of a strange story, with her mother being in a coven and stuff, but it was nice for her to get something that wasn't wholly reliable on Lex or Kara.
Halfway through the season, and things are shaping up nicely. Kelly is on her own journey too, and seems to be following in her brother's footsteps. Having a Guardian back on Team Supergirl will be great.

The best episode of the week was Stargirl. That show rarely misses and every episode continues to advance the story.
