Geeky Regards

2021 still had box office issues and non-traditional releases due to the global pandemic. But there was still magic to be found, if you knew where to look. A lot of great things came out this year, and I was fortunate enough to see many wonderful things.

Marvel is vastly expanding their universe by giving supporting characters their own stories on Disney+. Things like WandaVision , The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , and Loki all are able to explore their characters deeper than the movies they featured in. The possibilities are endless, as the MCU has many characters rich for exploration. Here are 5 stories the MCU should explore in the future.

Jurassic Park is one of the best movies ever made. The premise was executed flawlessly, and it gave audiences something they've never seen before. The same cannot be said about the sequels, which either offered more of the same or squandered the franchise completely.

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy  is getting a TV series adaptation on Hulu. Hitchhiker's has been adapted to screen before with different results. The last one was a movie in 2005 starring Martin Freeman. The book is one of my favorite books ever, and the story means a lot to me. So I am going to do a fancast of the TV series. Actors who I think would be great as the characters. This is a pipe dream, so I am obviously not expecting this to happen. The only criteria I have is that the people I choose are alive and currently working in the industry. I am only going to do some of the more prominent roles, because casting every  character in the series will be tedious.

The prodigal son has returned. J.J. Abrams will let nothing stand in his way. He will finish what he started. That’s right; J.J. Abrams will write and direct Star Wars Episode IX . I expected as much, he was one of the 11 directors I thought could do it. But if you really think about it, it is kind of surprising. Continue reading to see why.

This seems to happen entirely too often now, but there is another Star Wars movie without its original director. To be honest, I was not sold on it to begin with and now they need to essentially start over. Since  Episode IX  will mark the 11th  Star Wars  movie, I have compiled a list below of 11 Directors who I think should be given the reigns.

There will be several contradictions in this first paragraph, but let me explain. I’ll start by saying that I am always in the bag for any Star Wars Story. Having said that, Lucasfilm is playing it too safe; they have such a rich universe to explore, and everything they have done has spanned only about 60 years or so. They seem to be scared to do anything before The Phantom Menace . A Knights of the Old Republic era saga of movies (or even a television series) is rich for storytelling. Let’s see some new characters and stories very far away from the Skywalkers and everything surrounding them. However, the one existing character that was an absolute no-brainer to have a standalone movie for is Obi-Wan Kenobi. Read on to see my thoughts on what a Kenobi movie could, and should, be.

Forty years ago, on May 25, 1977 something happened that would change the world. It changed the entirety of pop culture and (directly or indirectly) would affect every movie that came out after it. Forty years ago, Star Wars was released for the first time.
