2021-2022 Arrowverse Roundup - Week 16

This week featured two stories ending, a big name entering fray, a veteran leaving, and lots and lots of secrets.

Below is a breakdown of all of the Arrowverse stuff that aired this week. It is part review, part speculation, part analysis, and part rambling. It is organized in the order they aired throughout the week, so feel free to scroll down to whatever ones you watch. If you want to get caught up, you can use my Arrowverse Viewing Order guide to help you navigate!

Naomi - Episode 1.06 -Homecoming

It feels like the show is starting to tread water now. Every episode has what we think is an answer, but just deepens the mystery instead. It is also falling into common CW tropes, with love triangles, and what not. The supporting characters are becoming more interesting, and getting deeper into their roles, so that is nice to see, but there isn't quite enough to hold ones attention for very long at the rate they're going.

Superman and Lois - Episode 2.06 - Tried and True

Relationships were at the forefront of this episode, and it was quite strong. Lois and Lucy went through ups and downs at the same time Lois's kids were figuring out secrets as well. Jordan and Jonathan are at odds with each other because Jonathan doesn't quite know where to fit in on the football team or in the family. Clark deepened his relationship with Bizzaro, and Lana figures out what her relationship with Kyle should be going forward. There was still superhero stuff, the capture at the end was pretty shocking, but relationships definitely carried the episode. The original Pink Power Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson did a wonderful job directing all the moving storylines to get the most out of the actors.

Legends of Tomorrow - Episode 7.13 - Knocked Down, Knocked Up

The season came to a close in a pretty satisfying way. It said goodbye to a veteran member of the crew, and hello to a deep cuts DC comics character who was an incredible surprise. Nate is leaving, and got a pretty great exit, with of course, the door open for him to return. He was a great character, and a solid foundation with the revolving door of the Legends, so it is sad to see him go, but if the show continues, then I have no doubt he will appear again at least one more time, unless there is bad blood, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Booster Gold has entered the mix, and he seems like he will be an incredibly fun addition. If you were going to tell me that Booster Gold was going to enter the Arrowverse, I wouldn't have thought it would be through Legends but here we are.

Pregnancy stories are old and played out, but like with almost everything, Legends found a way to give it a new twist. Sara is pregnant with her wife's baby, and it is both of theirs biologically.

Overall, the season was pretty great, and I hope it gets to continue for at least one more so everyone can have a proper send off and go off into the light.

Batwoman - Episode 3.13 - We Having Fun Yet?

The finale of Batwoman finally told the story it wanted to. The last 2 finales were fraught with casting changes and cleaning up the mess of that. Now that that is out the way, they could tell a streamlined and emotional story, and they did that for the most part. Ryan had to fight her family while relying on her new one, and mending bridges at the same time. There was a lot of emotional baggage at play here, and things were handled pretty well for the most part. Everyone got a pretty big role to play, and character development continued. It also did a great job of setting things up for a new season and leaving characters in interesting places for them to explore further.

The best episode of the week was Batwoman and Legends, as they were both strong finales. Superman & Lois was really great too.
